Fireplaces and mantels often require creative solutions. One client had a fireplace with no room for stonework above. Instead I built oak paneling and stained it green to accentuate the detail, giving it as much visual interest as the stone. Then on the floor in front of the fireplace, I laid the wood in the shape of a hearth. |
